We owe you a long overdue update on the future of our downtown Spartanburg location at 130 S Church Street. We have finally reached an agreement with the City to sell this property and unfortunately will have to close our doors on September 30, 2025. As most of you know, the City and County are building a large 189,000 sq ft joint municipal complex and the entrance to this new building will be right on the corner of Church and Broad Streets where our building is located. We had hoped for more time here, but as a friend once told me, “We are in the path of progress,” and it was not meant to be.
What’s Next for Blue Moon?
We will be consolidating our operations to the Bodega location at 220 E Daniel Morgan Avenue for the next few years. We’ll be merging the best of these two locations and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Bodega. We will have all your favorite Blue Moon market items, along with our full catering capacity there as well. Renovations are underway at the Bodega to add more kitchen and dining space, along with a plan for more parking, so stay tuned for updates on that!
In the long term, we plan to open a new Blue Moon Downtown, which will be located immediately behind our current restaurant at 145 W Broad Street. This will be on the ground floor of a six story apartment complex and will adjoin a parking deck. There will be green space on several sides which will provide wonderful outdoor dining options! Based on current timelines, we don’t expect this new location to be ready until 2028 or 2029.

• Blue Moon Downtown is closing on September 30 but we will be bringing your favorite menu items with us to the Bodega location at 220 E Daniel Morgan Avenue.
• We will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Bodega and you can pick up your favorite Blue Moon prepared foods in the market, along with other local artisan goods
• We will have no disruption in our catering services and will continue to provide amazing food for all your important events
• Our wholesale production will not be interrupted and we will continue distributing our specialty foods to retailers all over the southeast
What Can You Do to Support Us?
• Come see us at Blue Moon Downtown often over the next two months and bring your best smile and stories about your favorite memories. Help us savor the last few months we get to be together at this location!
• Go ahead and start visiting the Bodega! Many of you are creatures of habit and love routine (aka, ordering the same menu item every time you visit us :), so start giving the Bodega a try so you can get to know the ins and outs.
• Keep ordering catering from us for all your upcoming events! We will be losing a good bit of business with the closure of our downtown location, so we could use your support to keep our staff members as busy as possible.
• Keep us in mind this holiday season for corporate gifts, catered events, and holiday parties. The Bodega has an excellent private dining space for special events!

Final Thoughts
It is emotional to be forced to say goodbye to this wonderful location with so many amazing memories, but we remain hopeful that good things are in store for Blue Moon and for downtown Spartanburg. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all your love and support over the years!
